Peter Curling was born in Waterford, Ireland in 1955. He was educated in England and studied drawing with Signorina Nera Simi in Florence from 1972 to 1974. He also spent a short time with John Skeaping R.A.
He is well known for his work depicting horses. He lives in Tipperary where he has spent his life closely involved with horses. His work concentrates on movement and atmosphere and he relies on an in depth knowledge of every aspect of the horse and it’s surroundings.
As well as painting horses Peter also paints a variety of other subjects. He paints portraits and landscapes and has spent a lot of time in recent years in Venice.
